More than 120 projects, from solar water heaters to smart irrigation systems, were on display at our Annual Science Fair, judged by visiting university faculty.
Greenfield's main hall was transformed into a showcase of curiosity and creativity at this year's Annual Science Fair. Students from Grades 4 to 10 presented more than 120 projects covering physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, and technology. Visitors explored working models of solar water heaters, smart irrigation systems, water purification units, and simple electric vehicles.
Projects were judged by a panel of visiting faculty members from local universities, who assessed scientific thinking, originality, and presentation. The top prize in the senior category went to a Grade 10 team for their low-cost soil moisture sensor that automatically waters plants, while a Grade 6 group won the junior category with a model explaining how earthquakes affect buildings.
The fair was coordinated by the science department with support from the Robotics Club. Teachers noted how much confidence students gained by explaining their ideas to parents and judges. Winning projects will represent Greenfield at inter-school science competitions, and the next Annual Science Fair is already being planned with even more categories.
